The research of MatChem Lab is oriented to obtain new materials via sol-gel process / soft chemistry.
We are working on:
We are working on:
- Ceramic nanomaterials, (titanates)
- Ceramic reactive powders, (silicates and titanates)
- High Entropy Oxides / Ceramics ((Bi0.2Na0.2K0.2La0.2Sr0.2)TiO3)
- Supports for catalysts (mesoporous alumina) and
- Magnetic nanomaterials (Fe3O4 based materials)
In the MatChem Lab there was developed a new class of materials called melting gels which are precursors for low temperature hybrid glasses which are successfully used as:
- Sealing materials for batteries
- Water and gas sealants
- Anticorrosive coatings – for magnesium substrate (AZ31B) and Stainless steel (ASM 304)
- Precursors for electrospray glass coatings
- Smart materials
- Self-healing protective coatings for anticorrosive applications.
